American Sniper wins the Weekend Box Office again

American Sniper continued to fire away on all cylinders to amass another amazing weekend box office performance of $64.4 million. To date, this war movie has sold $200 million in movie tickets.

American Sniper is the top Navy movie of all time. It is about to replace Saving Private Ryan as the top war movie of all time. Should Avatar be considered a war movie? Or are we talking about real war movies with live action? In any case, American Sniper is hitting all targets at the box office.

Next up on the box office list is Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ray classic.

There is no stopping American Sniper. With The Oscars® quickly approaching, a Best Picture and/or a Best Actor award for Bradley Cooper would give this epic war film another push to reach $400 million in the domestic box office.

American Sniper is one of those rare movies that has a life of its own. Nobody predicted this movie could potentially earn greater than $300+ million. It is on pace to break several additional box office records in its genre. The one surprise mega blockbuster that comes to mind is how Titanic picked up steam after its first weekend and continued to build a strong fan base.

American Sniper has widespread appeal. This sniper movie is based on a book bearing the same name as the movie, a true story of a U.S. Navy Seal turned sniper, Chris Kyle, and his real life experiences balancing his military duties with his wife and kids.

Congratulations to the American Sniper crew for this sudden rise in the box office. It is an exciting time to see movies based on true stories of family life such as American Sniper and The Theory of Everything. We'll monitor the weekend box office of American Sniper. There are no limits to how far this mega blockbuster will travel.

American Sniper targets the Box Office with a Huge Shot

American Sniper opened on Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday weekend with a mind-boggling $105.3 million in domestic ticket sales, $89.5 million of this total was generated from the typical 3-day weekend format. This fantastic performance broke box office records for all-time January movie openings. American Sniper opened in wide release in a big way to show that great directing and awesome performances do get noticed in award movies at the box office.

Last week, Bradley Cooper received an Oscar® nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Navy Seal, Chris Kyle, in American Sniper. Chris Kyle is viewed as the top American sniper in U.S. History, which he wrote a book bearing this same name. In this bestselling book, Kyle detailed personal military and family experiences during his Navy service tours in the Iraq War, as a Veteran, and as a family man. American Sniper a gripping true story of an American soldier who made every shot count - both in the military and in his personal life.

Moviegoers can watch Chris Kyle and his wife Taya Kyle true story play on the silver screen. At $105.3 million in its first weekend in wide release,  millions of movie fans are showing proof of doing this now. American Sniper delivered a rare big performance in war genre movies of this caliber. The last war movie to generate such a huge weekend opening was Pearl Harbor with $75.2 million back in 2001. American Sniper is expected to exceed the $198 million domestic box office of Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor and the $200+ million box office performance of Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan.

American Sniper is based on a true story, though some facts are manipulated/twisted to fit the traditional Hollywood mold. Bradley Cooper is continuing his dominance in leading roles, garnishing Oscar® nominations three years in a row. As usual, Clint Eastwood delivers another fantastic war film, as done in Letters to Iwo Jima and Flags Of Our Fathers.

American Sniper is making big news at the box office for dismantling its competition. An impressive $105.3 million in ticket sales place American Sniper far ahead of pre-wide release expectations.

We expect American Sniper to continue its dominance in the box office for weeks to come. A domestic box office take of $300 million is well within sight. With The Oscars® on tap in March, American Sniper is sure to benefit from this award buzz.

American Sniper in wide release: Major Blockbuster

American Sniper aimed at the box office in wide release this weekend and is hitting its targets in a big way. A huge Thursday evening showing and a massive Friday night opening in the movie box office, is projecting this sniper movie to make in the ballpark of $70-$90+ million in its first full box office weekend and another $10-$15 million on Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday. Who knew that American Sniper would perform this well? History. Support. Great filmmaking of American Sniper cast and crew. The late Chris Kyle and his wife Taya Kyle.

We find it shocking to see this much support for an inspiring, tear-jerking movie of this caliber. The word is out, that American Sniper is a mega hit. It is a certified blockbuster in the making. There is no end to the tunnel, which the award season may shine even brighter on this masterpiece. The light shining down on this great movie is the man who made this impressive story possible, Chris Kyle.

Bradley Cooper portrayed Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle, honoring his memory through his devotion to his wife and children, as well as his dedication to serve in the United States Navy as a highly decorated Navy Seal. Clint Eastwood, one of the greatest movie directors of our time, directed American Sniper so accurately that moviegoers assumed they were watching these events unfold in real life.

According to Military Times interview with Taya Kyle (wife of late Chris Kyle) about the American Sniper movie production, she shared "If there ever was going to be a movie that was even going to come close to getting it right, this was it" (MilitaryTimes). Based on her warm response of American Sniper, it is safe to say that American Sniper cast, crew, producers and the film studio Warner Bros. got it right in a big way.

As of right now, American Sniper is aiming to become the top movie opening of January ever. It is breaking records, which is owed to Chris and Taya for penning a book about their personal lives. Books turned into movies are becoming the norm in the movie box office. Movies based on true stories hit home, hit the heart, because we as moviegoers feel a sense of pride paying our respects to real people, real stories, especially American soldiers and U.S. servicemen risking their lives to preserve peace.

The U.S. Navy and the American military deserve a great deal of respect for protecting our world. People assume that the American military only keep American citizens safe. But for the most part, American soldiers are keeping the world as safe as possible. The recent theater of conflicts that took place in Afghanistan and in Iraq are identified as the fight against terrorism.

American Sniper, a movie based on the true story of U.S. Navy Seal sniper Chris Kyle and his wife Taya Kyle, has mesmerized those who've watched this movie in wide release. As one of the best Navy movies ever, American Sniper is likely to become the top grossing movie in its genre (war movies).

We salute all those involved in portraying the life of Chris Kyle, his dedication in serving the United States Navy and American military proud and his wife Taya for sharing her life with the world to see.

Go watch American Sniper! Tell us how you reacted to this blockbuster hit.
